How many coats?: Between 1 and 2, see below for details.
Base coat used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Basecoat
Top coat used: Seche Vite top coat
I ended up doing my "fun" Christmas mani early because I am working up until Christmas (including Christmas Eve) and I work with food so I didn't want to risk like a glitter falling off so I only painted them for my days off. /paranoid.
Let's break it down by each finger:
Pinkie - One coat of Sugar Sugar. I did the dots with a dotting tool with Snow Me White. I decided it needed some bling so I added a coat of Hay Girl Hay on top and it turned it pink. Oops.
Ring - 2 coats of Turn on the Haute Light for the base. I decided to play with striping tape and added a coat of Sugar Sugar to make the stripes. This finger ended up being my favorite design.
Middle - 2 coats of My Favorite Ornament. I used striping tape to make the tree using Elphie for the green. The star is from the glitter in Rocket Out and the "ornaments" are from I Snow You Love Me. I was rather proud that the tree ended up looking like a tree.
Index - 2 coats of Snow Me White. Decided to do a candy cane look so did striping tape with Sugar Sugar. I added a coat of Fairy Dust to add some bling to it. I am not great with white polish so it ended up just looking sloppy, sadly.
Thumb - One coat of Olivera for the base and then added Electrify which I brushed on to get a maximum effect. I didn't really like it because the green was so dark that it looked black so I added some of the circle glitters from Snow You Love Me but I didn't really like that either so I added a coat of Fairy Dust and then gave up, haha!
Overall I am giving this polish a 3 out of 6 stars. I really liked the different looks but I think next year I may do the silver and red stripes with the Christmas tree.
