Vespa is one of those colors that is hard to photograph to show it's true color. It is a lovely sea foam green with a matte finish..with sparkles! It is one of Zoya's Pixiedust polishes. I had bought it several months ago during a promotion and had been putting off trying it since I was more into the creams in the past months. I mainly bought it to compare it to the liquid sand polishes that OPI released since I love them so much. Also the color isn't something I typically try.
I don't know what I was waiting for. It is AMAZING! I applied 3 coats total. The first coat I was a little meh about it but the second coat really filled it in nicely. I mainly did 3 coats to cover up a mistake on one of my fingers and the color looked better. More deeper if that makes any sense. The brush is a great size to get an even amount on each nail. I was not expecting the matte looking finish. I did not use top coat so I have no idea if it looks more jelly with the top coat.
The dry time was also fantastic. The only complaint I have about the polish is that it seems to wear off of the tips of your nails rather quickly. I applied the polish on November 4th, the photos were taken on the 6th and you can see some wear. It is now the 8th and nearly all of my fingers have some spot on the tips where the polish is wearing down. It could be the lack of top coat, I will have to try that next time. My ring finger's nail, which is a pain when it comes to keeping polish on it, has been the most noticeable. However the polish is so pixelated with the glitter that is pretty easy to cover it up somewhat. I imagine that a darker color would not be as noticeable. The photo below was as close up as I could get. I love how much it sparkles.
Needless to say, I am a huge fan of the Pixiedust polishes now and I am hoping to add another color to my collection the next time I can afford another bottle of Zoya's polish.
Summary: I am giving it a 5 out of 6 stars!! The application, dry time, and finish were great. Wear is a little off but I will take a nail polish wearing down quicker for a fast and easy application/dry time.
