Note: I applied this polish on December 20th (I think, I didn't write it down, I think the first half was on the 19th) and took the photos on the 20th. These photos were taken with my camera (usually I use my phone).
Christmas mani! I was excited to create one for Christmas week. I wanted to experiment with tape and make some shapes. I am not the most coordinated person so I knew this might be difficult. And it was. But more on that later.
First the polishes I used were:
Pinky: Under 18 (Sinful Colors), the Christmas tree is Gold Scales (Funky Fingers) and the topper is I Snow You Love Me (OPI).
Ring Finger: Snow White (Sinful Colors) with Under 18 (Sinful Colors).
Middle Finger: San Francisco (Sinful Colors), the Christmas tree is Gold Scales (Funky Fingers) and the topper is I Snow You Love Me (OPI).
Index Finger: My Favorite Ornament (OPI).
Thumb: Under 18 with My Favorite Ornament (OPI).
The first thing I learned about using tape is that let it dry. Not just an hour but MANY hours. I put tape on and poof, off came the nail polish. I was less than amused. I ended up having to repaint the bases and do the trees/candy cane nails the next day. All base polishes were two coast. My index finger ended up having 3 all together mainly because my tip area kept wearing off. Putting on the tape itself was an adventure since it was sticky and I wanted the trees to end up looking even. I ended up finding tape on one of my thumbs when I went to take it off, apparently I painted right over it, LOL!!
I had to keep applying thin layers on the red and green bases through Christmas week so they would look somewhat pretty still (I got a few compliments, people asked where I got my nails done!). It was normal tip wear of a Sinful Colors polish and doing lots of cooking and dish washing. I am amazed it didn't just completely chip off in chunks! Thank you Seche Vite top coat!
Overall I am giving this mani a 5 out of 6 stars. I really liked it and I am pretty proud of the way the candy cane nails and the tress came out.
