Note: I applied this polish on February 13th and took the photos on the same day. These photos were taken with my camera (usually I use my phone).
I did something that I never do, I applied the same color (red) to my nails two manis in a row. The horror, I know, lol. But it was Valentine's Day and although I don't celebrate it, I wanted to do something cute. Hearts = cute to me.
I decided to do a different brand with a deeper shade of red so I went with Nicole's 'Challenge Red-y'. I used one coat since it was good coverage and I was in a hurry to get my mani done. It dried fairly quickly and it is a nice blood red creme.
For my second fingers on each hand, I applied one coat of Nicole's 'Love Your Life'. I did have to fish for a heart to get on the brush but I managed to get the two I used without much issues. For the hearts on my fourth fingers, I drew on hearts using Sinful Colors 'Pink Forever'. I couldn't find my nail brush so I ended up using a nail stick and painting the polish onto it. It sounds bizarre but it worked rather well!!
The most exciting thing about doing this mani is that I GOT A NEW BASE COAT! FINALLY!! I went with China Glaze this time (the last one was Finger Paints). Using this base coat was like a dream compared to the old one since it was so icky, haha. It went on so nicely.
However, it didn't help much with chipping with this mani. I knew it would chip fairly quickly since I used one coat of polish and I have done a lot of things that involve getting my hands wet.
I am giving this mani a 4 out of 6 stars. For throwing it together in the last minute, I think it turned out pretty well and looked nice.
